  • Tullio Andreatta suggests to create a wrapper for external search engines such as udmSearch.
  • ezmlm-www 1.4 supports Plucene and KinoSearch.
• vpopmail support [#728861]
  • Davide Giunchi provided a patch for getting mailing list name from the query string and then reading configuration using vpopmail-specific Perl modules.

Browsing enhancements:

• author index and author-based browsing
• most recent messages on main page
• order by date and not by thread [#723274]
• next/previous in thread [#723551]
• sort most recent months at top [#888797]

Performance improvements:

• mod_perl support [#1046916]
• shared memory? memcached? ...

Customization/flexibility:

• more customization of HTML templates
• config option for CSS file path

Security/installation layout:

• more sophisticated C wrapper for better privileges separation
  • Tullio Andreatta provided an alternative index.cgi.c for separating the wrapper from the script itself.
